Defender currently has two distinct funds its operating, the Australian Opportunity Fund which is focused on ASX listed and early stage investments, and the Defender No.1 Fund which is focused on specific concentrated investment opportunities.
Defender Australian Opportunity Fund
Over many years, Defender has developed and successfully applied five-step process for analysing investment opportunities to the investments of the Manning Family Office. Defender believes in aligning its interest with unitholders in the Fund by co-investment. The Manning family is a seed investor and holds ordinary units in the Fund. As such, Defender is motivated to apply the same meticulous methodology to the Fund as it does for its many successful family investments.
The Fund will invest in:
• Long/short Australian and International equities
• Long/short debt instruments
• Derivaties for both exposure & hedging purposes
• Unlisted companies
• Emerging market companies
• Real property
• Unit trusts
• Foreign exchange (for hedging purposes only)

Defender No. 1 Fund
The Defender No.1 Fund (“No.1 Fund”) is a special opportunities vehicle which has been funded by the Manning Family Office. The No.1 Fund applies the successful five-step process applied in the Defender Australian Opportunity Fund to concentrated and specific investments, with a view to adding value to the underlying assets through review and realignment of the underlying strategies associated with target investments.
